Portrait of Vasilis Iakovidis, the producer behind Spektron

Spektron is the dark prog project of Vasilis Iakovidis, based in Limassol, Cyprus.

His journey into electronic music began in 2011 as a DJ in the island’s underground scene. In 2021 he began crafting his own distinct sound within the realm of dark progressive.

Built around heavy low-end, intricate rhythms, and organic textures, Spektron’s sound combines driving basslines with evolving glitch-laden sequences, merging industrial grit and forest-inspired psychedelia into a cohesive sonic identity.

Rooted in experimentation and darker psychedelic landscapes, Spektron’s philosophy centers on layering intricate details over hypnotic grooves, creating music that balances mechanical precision with organic warmth.

2025 marks the next step with his debut EP on Intermind Records. The project continues to evolve, with new material in development.
